Nice to hear about a company that admits its troubles and fixes them!
That Scamp sounds like a screamer! I know well the pain of selling a beloved rod...I had to let my Duster go went I went off to college!

you got that right!!!! like i said before, even though this kit is a curb side, they actually give you instructions on how to build an el-camino type rambler, i think thats pretty cool.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]plus with all the other building options, i dont see how a few loose wheels could be a big problem?

since you brought it up, in the kit for the 59 rambler, they do have a certificate in the box for a new set of moon hub caps . they say the ones in the kit dont fit very well. but at least they admit the poor fit and offer a FREE yes i said FREE replacement. try to get that from someone else.Cool [8D]Cool [8D]if these guys are re-starting johan at least they seem to be going at it the right way?

Not meaning to put it down, but Johan was in the booth beside us @ Alumilite @ the Chicago show. They were having problems w/ the kit as the tires would not stay on the wheels. Fixed it w/ liquid plastic for glue for them...

Chris, that is a sweet Scamp! It's a 71? The grill and bumper are exactly like a '70 Duster's. Nice Mopar scoop, too! Whatcha got in it, a 318? 340?

Well of course as you know they came stock with 318 2bbls...thats how it stayed for a year. Then when I had the money to buy a small ranger for my daily driver I put it up and ordered a 360 for it....the car basically went from bone stock to a street legal dragger in a period of 3 yrs. Race Demon carb....MSD....You name it...its been done. Im selling it though...as much as I dont want to Ive done everything I can to it and dont drive it or put it on the track. So its going bye bye...Ive had it in Auto Trader for 3 months and just got my 1st call on thursday took it to let the guy see it and well...we'll see. If I dont sell it soon Im going back to the Chrysler Meet in 05 and going to sell it(or trade it) up there!
I have an extensive build list(though I feel I still left some things out) and some various pics.

hey chris, i actually think he bought out some of the old molds, and maybe even the name, i noticed on one of the decal sheets, theres an ohio licences plates that says "ROBB" and then on the bottom of the plate it gives the county and it says "SHELBY", well, one of the "high"ranking members in the club was "robb shelby"? imagine that. i guess they all must have been in on it some how. i do know for a fact that this guy was from covington ky. and some of the police decals are for covington. i think maybe he had something to do with the re-issue of the fury police cars here a couple years back?i dont belong to the cliub anymore, so i guess i missed out on some good insider stuff for sure. but i would keep looking , you never know what might pop up,hopfully they can make a go out of this.johan had some really nice stuff years ago. so we'll seeCool [8D]

Johan! I haven't heard that name since I bought the Sox & Martin Hemi Cuda kit years and years ago.
Think the Superbird I built was Johan, too, before the Monogram kit came out.
So, you know the guy? Cool!
Ask him to make a 1970 Duster 340. The Ertl '71 just isn't close enough for me!Wink [;)]

thought i'd bring this back up to the top. has anyone had any luck finding this car? i went back to hobby lobby last week and they have already sold out. i counted 14 models on the shelve the day i bought 2, i knew i should have gotten a few more. they were priced at 13 bucks, not to awful high, but not as cheap as some of the other stuff they had.like to hear from anyone who runs across this kit and what they plan on building. i'm going for the ambulance version on one and some type of fire chief/rescue car on the other one.

went to hobby lobby this weekend and saw the "new" release from johan, a 1959 rambler wagon, curb side kit but with 4 building options. i was in a model club with this guy a few years back, so i'm glad to see hes getting these off the ground. kit has 3 full decal sheets, different building options include, surf woody, stock, police, and ambulance. also shows how to build an "el-camino" version in the instuctions. pretty cool kit. grab one if you see it out. its going to be a nice subject to do.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]
