Classic 1950's Race Cars Kits?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, October 20, 2003 6:49 PM
I am new to the forum and I am interested in finding out if there is a manufacturer or a source for 1:24 or 1:25 scale classic postwar European racing cars.

I have done a bit of seraching and can find only pre-built models. I am looking for some plastic or resin kits.

Thanks for your help

I vaguely recall Heller doing a single seater. Not sure of current availability though. Not even sure if they did any others.

It was a TALBOT LAGO 4LS Grand Prix car.

Mike,
Every now and then Model Expo has some vintage racing cars, usually Grand Prix racers from the late 40's thru the very early 60's.
Some are cast metal bodies and plastic parts, these are expensive!
Then, there are the same kits with the body panels in plastic, these are really nice and inexpensive. I bought the 1956 Ferrari for $29. It is in 1/20 scale, same as the rest of my F1 kits.
If this interests you, I'll post the URL.

Don
I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.
