My Revell 49 Merc...
Posted by Wingman_kz on Saturday, January 19, 2008 2:01 AM

Finished this last November but just got around to taking pictures the other day. The paint is a custom mix of Boyds Lime Pearl with Aluma Coupe Yellow Pearl and Bright Green Pearl added. For clear I mixed two of the small bottles of Testors Lime Gold, let the pigment settle and drained the carrier to tint Testors Gloss Clear for a candy effect. The interior is white pearl nail polish with black flocking for carpet. I didn't take any interior pics before final assembly.

Added a few custom touches of my own. Starting at the front, I filled the holes for the front turn signals, cut out the battery box and filled the hole, smoothed the inner fenders and firewall. I cut off the hood hinges and rounded the rear hood corners. Filled in the gaps/holes between the firewall/fenders/doors. Frenched an antenna in the fender. Made a couple of *bullets* to replace the windshield wipers. Shaved the drip rails. Made custom smooth fender skirts. Filled the holes for tail lights and used the turn signals from the Pontiac grill included in the kit for tail lights. Did a lot of work on the chassis to lower it. Here she is...

Wanted to show that I do actually build. Smile [:)] And know a little about using an airbrush. This was my first build in a year. Took a break for a while. I'll post pictures of some other builds soon. Right now I'm working on my first A/C and when I make a little more progress I'll snap some pics of it. Hope you like it.

Whoa......fantastic paint....and all the alterations/customizations worked really well.  Just lovely.
You should be very happy with that - I know I would be.

I've seen a few of your other things on the forum...All I can say is your paint technique is amazing!!! The finishes are so smooth and glossy.
