Looks plenty good to me as well! Agreed on the tyre comments, just have a go at it with some sanding paper and you'll get the ridge removed and wear it a bit, just to have the tyre surface look slightly different to the sidewalls.

But it's a good build, keep going!

Sometimes happens. I always have 2 different decal softeners. I've found that Gunzee's Mr Softener generally works on decals the Microsol doesn't. I always start with Microsol but if it doesn't work then I'll switch. I have started with Mr Softener to see the decal react badly to it.

Looks good to me and I don't even build cars!  JJ sure has a hot foot and I wonder if he'll do a three-peat this year.  If your GF wants a picture or two of him during Bristol this spring, give me a PM during race week and I'll do my best to get them- I get to go to all of the Bristol races and shoot them for work.

Great build, really there is nothing more to say. my first NASCAR that I built was a Dale Earnhardt. but that was about 14 years ago. one thing you could do is lightly sand around the tires where they whould make contact with the track to give them that worn look. it will also get rid of the mold line.  again great build.

My girlfriend became a huge NASCAR fan last year.  She picked out
Jimmie Johnson as her favorite driver early in the season.  So when
he went on to win the championship, I knew I was on the hook to
make a model of his car.  It was a great suprise birthday present.

Anyways, I'm usually an aircraft guy and this is my first car, so please
post some comments and critiques.  I enjoyed the build alot, hope to do
more cars in the future, so if there is anything I can do better please
let me know.

The kit is a 1/24 Revell.  Good kit overall.  My biggest gripe was that
the decals did not react with MicroSol at all.  I had to paint many of
the details for which their was supposed to be a decal.  Turned out
better that way anyways.
