Boyd Coddington Died today at age 63
Posted by fantacmet on Thursday, February 28, 2008 12:14 AM

I just recieved this from a friend a little bit ago.  Boyd Coddington died this morning of February 27th 2008, around 6:00am.  Details have not yet been released, but the Coddington Corporation has confirmed his death, and said they will be releasing a statement soon.

I am sure that everyone here can understnad who Boyd Coddington was.  Boyds Wheels, Testors Colors by Boyd, American Hotrod. Boyd Coddington Customs, Chezoom Coupe, Aluma Coupe, the list goes on.  His name in the auto industry is a revered one, and he will go down in history with such legends as Barris, Garlits, Earnhardt, and Kulwiki.

Please join me in a period of silent reflect, on this man who has brought so much to the scale portion of this beloved hobby that we call cars.  Please also share your fonder thoughts and memories of anything Boyd.  Perhaps we can all get together to create some kind of e-card, to send to the coddington Corporation and his wife, in rememberence of Boyds, on behalf of the members of the Fine Scale Modelers Forum.

I enjoyed his show, but noticed that I could not find it on TV last season.  Was he ill?

I know at one point last year he had to have emergency surgery for something but thats it.  I'mj sure the Coddington Corp will be releasing their statement any day now.  Once it's released you can bet that I will be coming here and posting it for everyone.
