I vote for F-1.
I don't usually do auto builds, but I do have a bit of a love for those finely tuned machines. Any that I have done have been fun builds, too. PLus, there's alot more to chose from ,as far as kits go.

I'm all for F1. But please, PLEASE don't make me build a Ferrari....

Lotus, McLaren, Williams, Tyrell, ANYTHING but a Pony...I'd never hear the end of it :)

Looks like F1 has taken the cake so far.....now the next item to discuss....I know in group builds everyone usually builds the exact same kit but would anyone like to do different kits...revolved around the same theme? F1?
Just a thought either way I dont care...just giving ideas looking for feedback!

BTW thanks for moving this david!

If we are doing any F1, why not allow AM? If I'm going to do a McClaren, I want it to be done right, by jiggers! Mind you, aftermarket is not required. It's all about the build, baby!

If it has to be F1 then F1 is my thought, any scale or 20th and less? Don't please restrict it to a specific model at this point, unless its one I already have in the cupboard.

How about no aftermarket stuff but if you want you could show your skills by making the "extras" yourself eg wiring, brake leads, plumbing etc. Might be an excuse to try home made photo etching and decals.

If we open it up to any car in the genre...I'm going to do the Williams FW24. I've been looking for an excuse to buy that kit :)

I just might write down on a peice of paper, the different F1 carsi have interest in, hang it on the wall, put on a blind fold, and throw a dart, and which ever one i hit, that will be the one i do!!

I wonder if some one makes a kit of my dog, just in case i hit him!!!

Hey guys I'm going to throw my hat in to the ring as well. If I had a choice, I would like to build the same car as everyone else, but I'll do whatever the majority wants. I think the benefit of doing the same kit is, that everyone knows exactly what the others are talking about when discussing the kit. We can see how others tackle the same problems we are experiencing. It would be great to be able too compare your approach to a kit with someone else. Lots of good information can be passed around thats beneficial too everyone.

I too think I would like to do the Williams as well.

Hey Darren, those are some very valid points!!!!!

we should discuss this further.......

Just keep in mind, this is our first build in this (auto) forum, and hopefully not the last!!!!!

If we dont do the same vichle tis time, perhaps build#2 we can do that.... Chris and I would like to do a Mini!!!!

Hi,

I will buy any tamiya 1/20 F1 car for the build. Ill even buy the matching Tamiya acrylic paint. However, the catch is that I want the finished product!

I will send the kit and paint to the first builder and then the last builder can just send me the finished kit.

What do you guys think?

Ive done these type of builds on MCL...however were not doing that type here. What we are doing is everyone is going to purchase a kit. Everyone is then going to build it together...working on thier own kit. Post progress and ask any questions....

Oh

I thought that we would all do one part of the model then send it along to the next guy...
Like if you were really good at painting then you would do the paint and who ever is good at custom work that is what there would do....buy one model and have many builders...

LOL now I do feel stupid.
