Does anybody make the Oshkosh foam heavy fire truck in a kit? Also do they make resin or Photoetch aftermarket items for it including decals for specific airports?

Hawkwrench

Try this website.  They are planning to make a few Oshkosh airport fire trucks in the future. The only fire truck they have right now is the Army Oshkosh TFFT in 1/48 scale. Hope this helps a little.

Time to find some good drawings, pictures and start a scratch building project...be sure to cast your parts once they're done so you can sell resin copies! You'll probably do well selling them. It is one of millions of subjects not available as a kit.

Those trucks are all over the world...fire trucks don't usually wear out for airport use...I know Oshkosh Corp. (It's not Oshkosh Truck any more...they have diversified too much to be called truck) has refurbishment programs both at Oshkosh and Pierce to rebuild them into newly spec'd units.

Google Oshkosh Fire Truck and came up with this at a Navy training website

http://www.tpub.com/content/aviation/14014/css/14014_337.htm

A top view is needed.  You'll need to get more info on the running gear.   Oshkosh may be able to help you  - or a trip to the fire station at the local airport  (ask nicely)

EDIT--------------------------------------------------------------

Found this plus some other picts of die cast Oshkosh fire trucks while googling around.  The several sites I was at said that they were sold out,  but you might want to check other suppliers of diecast fire equipment to see if they have any.  Check the die cast collectible stors in your area -- and check Kalmbach's sister pub regarding autos

The only crash truck that has been in kit form is the Revell-Germany 8x8 Simba. OOP for a long time though.

There are several diecast ones though. But if you want a 1/24 scale one, gonna have to scratch build it.

With the truck I'm wanting to build built by Oshkosh,Would the 1/35 scale HEMMTT truck be a good use for the chassis and tires?Sorry but I'm a helicopter guy not Autos.
