1. 1968 Dodge Charger 440 R/T
2. 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner
3. 1970 Mustang Boss 429
4. 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon Futura Sprint
5. 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 (not a muscle car, but what a highway car!!)

Prost!

Oh...top five muscle cars....

Only five??? I am not sure I can put them in any order here....but here are five that top my list....

69 GTO Judge
65 Buick Riviera GTS (style unsurpassed)
70 Chevelle SS
69 Hurst Olds 442
70 Pontiac TransAm

What can I say...I'm a GM kinda guy...

Really though...These are the originals...Hot Rods from the 50's, not original...40 Merc Lead Sleds...Don't get me wrong...I love original cars...they just aren't for me...

Cars...Five just isn't enough...lol...but Muscle Cars...those five would have to be some of my favorites....

I'll throw a few in the hat, but my choices are probably based on 'looks' than performance:

- 70 Buick GSX
- 68 Camaro RS/SS (with hideaway headlights)
- 70 Chevelle 454
- 68 GTO
- 70 Boss 429 Mustang

In no particular order...

1971 Mustang Mach 1 Boss 429
1971 Buick GSX Stage 1
1975 Pontiac Trans Am SD455
1969 Chev Camaro ZL-1 C.O.P.O.
1969 Plymouth Hemi Road Runner

I had a 72 Mach 1 with a 351 Cobra Jet and a 4-speed. I got about 9 miles to the gallon...on a good day!!! The crazy thing is, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Retired and living the dream!

No, in my humble opinion, they are not. A musclecar must be American iron. Medium size, big v-8. But that's just my opinion. Anyone else??

Hey!
I have no arguments with the cars chosen, thus far, but nobody's mentioned the 1970 Duster 340!!!!! What a gem!
Granted, it's the only musclecar I've evered owned, but...

J-Hulk, I also owned a brand new '70 340 Duster in "TOR-RED", it was fast but nothing compared to the cars mentioned here.

Ferrarie don't count, it's a sports car. Like Lee said, American iron, and lots of horses with a body that has ATTITUDE.
J-Hulk that would be Plum Crazy Purple
Another rare one was the Mustang Mach 1 351CID with magnesium alloy hemi heads, saw an articlr in Car Craft mag. about that one!
