                        I want to get a Tamiya 12th F1.

                        I would like to know which is the best kit to go for.I believe some kits are very old but have no idea if that means they are up to modern standards.

                        My question is twofold really,what kits would you say are the best part/fit.

                        And then which has more detail.

                        The 312 V12 engine looks very good compared to a modern engine.

                        Any views would be great.If you could list say, top 3.Not all shops stock these kits in the UK.

                        I don't think there is a bad one in the lot. The latest in the series was probably the best  simply because the bar kept getting raised with each new one, but even the oldest were quite good. i like the Ferrari T's, the Andretti Lotus and the Renault. A number of these are being re-released with the addition of phot-etched parts. Remember, they're Tamiya so don't shake the box too much or they'll come built!

                        Ken's right.....
                        Really, there isn't a bad one in the bunch....really, the scope is there to add a little extra detail to make an already great model into something spectacular.
                        I've built two Renault RE30B's and have the Porsche 935 Turbo and the Porsche Turbo RSR Type 934.....doesn't matter which one you pick....they'll all have stunning detal and fantastic fit....if you're careful and take your time, you'll end up with a model that'll knock your socks off.
