Tamiya F1 kits are really well engineered.
But the Williams FW24 is supposed to be top notch.
I ordered mine today, supposed to be in Friday. . .maybe.

Well, I'm not a wine drinker so bottling it would be a much better idea!
Tuesday is the result of the vote huh?
Can't wait.

but next time, bottle the wine and make some money ......LOL J/K ......

Looking forward to the build, and everyone's input..... and yes Don your input is always welcome....

From what I've seen, the new BMW looks insanely good. Incredible detail, and the lines are just beautiful. It's got my vote, hands down.

Ron,
How can I say this without making someone mad. . .?
Your right.
I stand corrected. I really thought I voted, but I did not. (What a dope I am.)
Please disregard the previous post and I promise not to whine again.
I'm going to the hobby shop and wash away the bad taste of inserting my feet (both of them) in my mouth with a plastic fix.
But if you think I'm an expert on F1 builds, we're both in trouble!!
I follow the F1 season and pray every race for the red cars to DNF. . .and Kimi not to screw up, and David to get a team behind him and Jordan to do better and. . .
Again, sorry.

*looks around the "room"...*

Me? Not sure that's a great idea.... :)

I'm not an American muscle car fan (save a very select few), nor a NASCAR fan. I prefer my cars (mostly) German and my racing winding and often dirty (Rally).

I'll chime in with my usual...

"Nah, let's do a Mercedes 300SL", "How about the Ford Focus WRC car?" or the "please god, ANYTHING but a Ferrari!!" :D

yes, I'm bored at work again today.

Hey, if we end up with two cars that people want to build, then I say, we break off into two separate groups. One of us can use the library, the other can use the study hall and we'll build our funny lookin' European race cars! :D

Next build we can maybe get something of a consensus :)

LOL chris!!!!!

Ok, We will end the Poll on Tuesday, after that we will post a new thread to start the build ..... Chris and I were talking, and we came up with this idea ........ Wecan start the build next week, but extend the build so everyone can compensate for ordering times and the holidays.......... YES/NO???

Keep in mind....... If you don't finish the build when the CBP is over , no big deal.......
This isn't a competition...... When i participated in the 2nd community build back in march, which was a ferrari theme build, i started the car back then, and i just finished it last night!!! LOL

This is our first build in this forum, so things are a little ruff, perhapd build #2 will go a little smother....... no polls though!!! LOL

Thanks for your time......

Hi Don,

All i'm sayin is if you really feel that strong about building a different kit,the other threadwas the place to do it............ the question was raised and only a few people gave their opinion, you were not one of them.... i don't want to sound like a jerk, but when chris and I asked people what they wanted, on a few responded, now that the decisions are made, people are coming out of the wood work............ Sorry, but it's too late know ..

I want this to be fun, i don't want this to be turned into a circus..... and, evryone can't be pleased....... I personally wanted to go with a F1 theme, but the majority wanted to do a specific car...... fine no problem...........

Solets stoop worrying about what we should have done, and lets build us a F1 car...

Don , you said you built these carsbefore???? Well thats great, 'cause some of have never built a F1 car before, including myself......... So i would image your input would be invaluable.............

Thanks......

All right, I'll be the one to whine.
Looking back at the original posts I can only see one post in favor to building the same kit
Same theme build is different than same kit build. If is is to be a same kit build, I''ll still take part, but I will need extra time for the kit to arrive as I will have to order it. I said it, now I'll shut up about it.
As to this forum not being as popular, yeah you got me there. It took quite a while for me to find some posts on real racing cars. Even car modelers tend to look down upon us Formula One modelers. Not only are we red headed step children, but our cars ain't even got no roofs er doors.
I'll check back to see what to order. . .

24th is the wrong scale for my F1 collection, the Williams and Ferrari run each other v close. I'll pick the Ferrari because I'm told its far more problematic than any Tamiya and as such the "community" can help in identifying and solving the potential problems. However the Williams I want to add as much extra detail as possible again others may want to do the same so its another good candidate. However as I love 12th thats taken my vote and its Villeneuve's. Oh I built the Lotus a couple of years ago and its a fantastic build, very easy but still room to add extra stuff. If there are lots of people that haven't done an F1 before then that should be the one to go for, ideal for the beginner and expert alike and still potential to add extra detail.

What ever I'm ready for the off!!

Thanks again

I can't wait, this promises to be fun!!!!

Hi Don,

In the other thread, most people expressed there interest in the group building one specific F1 car...... we did ask the question ..... do we want to go with a F1 theme, where everyone picks thre own car, or a specific car,,,,

the feed back we were getting was people wanted a common car to build so we can share our building experiences....

You are right though, there are TONS of F1's to chose from........ but the problem is, this forum isn't as popular as other forums (like armor) and the more choices we have the harder it would to pick a car.........

I hope you understand.... tahnks...

There are so many F1 kits I would rather see the group build not be limited to one specific kit. The Lotus of Andretti, the McLaren of Senna, the Ferrari of Mansell, The Williams of Jones, the Tyrell of Stewart, the Renault of Schumacher. . .Too many to go on.
Yes Moe, Revell of Germany does make the BMW but it costs as much as the 1/20th kit at the hobby shop close to me. Not a tough choice that!

HEY,
I want the BMW but i dont like the large scale. Maybe we could use a smaller scale like 1/24 or 1/25.
