'53 Chevy Street Rod Finished
Posted by fox on Saturday, April 12, 2008 11:50 PM

Hi guys.Smile [:)]

Just finished this build for the Classic '50's GB and thought I'd post it here too. First time I've built a car with this much detail. The entire build is on the GB site. Would have finished it a lot sooner but the freight trains kept going by under my workbench. All comments and crits welcome.

Thanks for the kind words Mike H.Smile [:)] There are a lot of mistakes on it. Just noticed that there is something on the lower left hand side of the grill shell. Looks like a big white spot. I'll have to go upstairs and check it out. Probably dust. There seems to be a lot of it floating around.

Went up to check and there was nothing there.Big Smile [:D] Must have been dust while I was taking the pics and these old eyes missed it.Blindfold [X-)]

Yesssssss, nice work fox!!!!!!! A 348 tri-power in a '53? Just thinking of the straight line performance of that setup! I LIKE IT!!!!! Only criticism I could see is that the plug wires look chunky. But don't listen to me lol, Very nice work! Plan on trying to finish my AMT '58 Impala after I finish my 1/72 Fairey Swordfish.

Cheers, simpilot34

Simpilot34, you are absotutely right. I had a 348 tri-power in my '60 chevy until she threw a rod at around 120.Boohoo [BH] In a '53, WOW. The only trick would be to keep the rubber side down.Big Smile [:D] The wires do look big. When I put thinner wires on it, they just looked toooooo thin so I guess I thought bigger is better. Thanks for the compliment.
