Just starting one. Mostly finishing up my research and planning my strategy at this point. (Need to finish up a couple of other projects to clear some more room the workbench before I get too far into it.)
Like what I see out of the box so far. The kit is pretty simplified when compared to the Accurate Miniature Grand Sport Corvettes, but also looks like it is buildable within the next century.
Engine looks pretty good.
Interior has a basic racing seat and roll bar. Looks like what it was - a stripped down production car. Don't remember if the seat has molded belts and don't have it handy - will check later. Irregardless, I was planning on adding belts and photo-etched buckles.
Front & rear suspension are a little bit simplified, but I think will look good when painted up. No brake detail. Haven't come up with any photos of the brakes on the original car, only the restored one. (I wasn't sure at first about the brakes - I faintly remember drum brakes being a problem on the early C2 racers. But in checking, discs became standard on the '65 production cars, so discs all around are a safe bet.)
My first impression is that I don't like the way the separate front wheel wells are used to trap the hood hinge pins, but we'll see how it works. I don't like the one-piece glass - hope it fits okay. Also looks like the headers and side pipes will be a bit of a challenge to get lined up.
