Enhancing a Revell 2005 Mustang GT

Made the 1st set of mods for an open driver's door.  I cut the inner door panel from the left side interior piece.  I also cut the outer door from the body.  I wound up using a second body since I used a Dremel to cut away the body from the 1st kit.  I'm not patient with slowly cutting parts.

Some problems that have come up from this: the interior pillar behind the drivers seat does not line up with an open door.  I plan to solve this by building it into a door frame and modified roll cage.  In fact, this is leading to a whole extended issue of detailing the inside of the body, meaning the frames, pillars, and roof.  It has been noted elsewhere that this is a weak spot of the model anyway.

This is a weak spot of MOST model cars from Revell and AMT.

Something else to note in the photos: I added the washer fluid nozzles to the hood.

The outer door panel is almost ready to paint.  I want to drill out behind the door handle where its solid plastic now.  Rough assembly shown.
