Audi Sport Quattro finished with pics
Posted by Geist on Thursday, May 15, 2008 8:56 PM
I just finished a Revell Audi Quattro rally car in 1/24th. today. It was a pretty fun build, but the kit had some inaccuracies. There were several problems with the interior. It looks like Revell hashed together a rally Quattro and a production Quattro. Oh well. Also I had some trouble with decal alignment. I guess that's why I build tanks...

Nice one geist.  Hope he doesn't take a wet trun to fast or he'll end up on "Wildest Videos" or "Best Sports Wipe Outs" Wink [;)]

Geist, that's one of the "issues" with auto build - the decalling. Your build turned out well and I like the weathering! My idea of how a rally car should look also! For next time, just a friendly pointer, remember to weather the windows, esp front windwcreen also... But that does not detract from your effort, well done!

I tried weathering the windows a little bit. You can't really tell in the pics. I wasn't really sure how to do it. Dry brushing mud didn't look right to me.

I used an airbrush, coupled with "bigger splatters" by using the same paint mix on a toothbrush.
