I have had good luck striping the chrome off, gluing and filling and then spraying with Testors ModelMasters Metelizers that you can buff to a shine. They will not buff to be as shiney as the kit chrome was but I like the look.

Tough question. If the part NEEDS to be chrome, I will often just live with the seam. If it doesn't then I strip the chrome with bleach or Super Clean, clean up the part, and then paint it whatever color it needs to be. If you want a decent chrome paint, try Duplicolor chrome or Alclad2, if you are an airbrush type.

Newbie and chrome a bad combo, Question

Newbie question. When working with chrome parts, like motorcycle exhaust. Do you remove the chrome and chrome spray it yourself. I find parts like exhaust pipes will have a seem. Do you remove the chrome, use filler, sand and spray or do you just leave the chrome parts as they came?

thanks for the help
