Thanks for the comments on my pics. Since you are locate in SoCal I thought you might enjoy this shot of Dan Gurney at the Motor Tend 500 at Riverside Raceway in '65. Or could it be a picture of my Gurney model  combined with a photo of Riverside in '68 with Gurney's Torino airbrushed out?

Awesome Mitchum,

Another great pic. I was fortunate to see The King(and alot of hall of fame drivers) race there back in the day. That and the old Ontario Raceway are long gone now.

Fontana is as close as we get to a race around here.(Well aside from the race at the Beach, F1 was my first). Nothing like the road course of Riverside!

Thanks again for all your posts, I read and look forward to each and every one of them. Your knowledge and skills are first class.

Just build it (and post pics when youre done)

Aw shucks, now you're embarassing me. Sometimes I wish the models did look as good as some of the pics. But being a westcoaster, you know all about that Hollywood trickery. Did you know that the original King Kong was only 18 inches tall? Imagine that. LOL

Seriously, I happy you liked it and I'll see what I can do to top it.

Very nice! Riverside has always been my favorite race track. From the big grand stands you could see almost all of the track. Watching those big stockers cut across the esses was a real thrill!

Mitchum,

I've loved all the model pictures and history lessons you've posted here and on other sites  for some time now, but you need to check your facts on  this one.  You said this photo was a model.

This one is absolutely Right.
