1/35 scale Propane tank...
Posted by smeagol the vile on Monday, September 1, 2008 1:18 PM

Ok, I seem to be needing help from you guys more and more.

I need, for my TF2 dio, a 1/35 scale propane tank, for the pyro's flame thrower.  I tried using stuff I had laying around to jury rig one up, it didnt work.  So I am going to try clay right now (make it into a ball, bake it, then sand and grind it to shape)  If that doesnt work, can you guys give me any suggestions?

Do you have a pic of the propane tank your looking to model? Is it a standard bbq tank? Is it a propane cylinder like you would find powering a forklift?

Oh Standard grill type tank.

The Pyro's flamethrower which it's for is a Propane tank attached to a gas pump handle, attached to a tube, basicly, heres a pic.

What about a bomb from any 1/48 scale WWII aircraft kit? You could work with the basic shape of the bomb to form the tank it self, you could also try a 1/72 barrel of some sort.... Just a thought.
