First lets gather up a few nubs....you know those little things you remove from certain parts on the sprues...

They are a valuable resource for modeling...DO NOT DISCARD THEM!

You can clean them up and drill very small holes into them to insert various diameters of wire or solder to replicate wiring harneses and tubing that instruments have attached to them. 

Besides using these Nubs as instruments on the backside of a panel, they can be used for various other applications throughout a modeling project to enhance detail. Clear ones are great for lights.

 

Remember any spare part from any model may have uses in other projects, start a spares stash today!

Great tip, Gerald!  May I add, I use little jelly jars, like the ones that come in Christmas samplers, to store those little bits.

I save the pour blocks from resin parts, too.  You can slice those down to make small boxes and gizmos of all kinds.
