Hey I have some progress pics of the buildings I made if you wanna check them out. I used foam as the base. Thin and thick chunks to make walls and structures and then just cover in a thin coat of lightweight spackling compound. It took the paint really well and looks pretty good, then I just airbrushed damage and used ground up chalks for weathering and making it dusty.

I just had a crash course in "cement" I created a german bunker basicly from sheetrock mud or joint compound, with a little painting I feel it was very convincing concrete...The main part was cardboard with a good thick coat of mud...for gun walls I used clay to form and then again covered with mud. Clay is nice because you can form any shape such as the picture you posted and it seems to hold the mud well. Another good thing about jointcompound...a thin coat can be scribed with any design like brick or rock....good luck!

I wouldn't mold it, I would build a structure out of foam core board with stryene and then coat in plaster. Go to the FSM articles that are free and find, "bombed out basics". hope it helps!

Building Buildings

I want to make a two story cement faced building. This building was posted on one of the forums on this site. I wish I could give credit to who ever made this. But I can't remember who it was. I hope it is OK to post his work as I find it very insperational to what I want.

Now what I want to do is make a similar building with basically with the same architecture, except it being two stories instead of three, and with out any damage to the building. All I need to make is the front and a little of the sides as it will be at the back of my dio. But what medium should I use? Foam board, styrene, or preferably plaster. But how would I make a mold to pour the plaster? Would plaster adhere to foam board? The blue insulation foam. The reason I want plaster is it gives a better texture.

Any help is much appreciated,
