Corrugated Sheet Dimensions
Posted by gronsky on Thursday, May 14, 2009 9:21 AM

I'd like to scratchbuild corrugated sheets in 1/35 scale, and I was wondering if anyone here could provide the dimensions for A and B in the pic provided.

Any help would be appreciated.

You mean 4' x 8' sheets like plywood right? I think he wanted the thickness (I'd guess no more than 1" in 1:1) and the distance between the corrugations (again, wild guess, maybe anywhere from 6 to 9"?) Not sure if I understood, now I'm confused.
All I know is you can buy specialty styrene products like Evergreen carries corrugated styrene in scales I believe. (Unless you really have a good way of scratching it, I think it’s be difficult personally, but I’m not the best scratch builder.)

Ah I see, but yeah, those dimensions might have to be left up to someone with the actual sheet in front of them. Confused [%-)]

My apologies for not acknowledging the replies sooner. I forgot that I posed a question here.

(Old age)

Anyway... found a tut that uses .080 rods spaced with .060x.040 strips. After I had made a jig using this method, I found a paint tube wringer way in the back of a desk drawer. Wouldn't you know that the wringer makes the same spaced ribbing??!!!!

BTW, here is the tut by Marc Reusser: http://www.finescalerr.com/smf/index.php?topic=15.0

So a belated thanks to all who replied and for the suggestions.

Hey Gronsky!    The measurement you,re looking for varies ,depending on it,s usage . Commercial bldgs. usually are 1 & 1/2 inches top of surface to bottom of sheet . The type people use at home (like you get at home depot ) Is an average of 1" .The commercial size sheet is usually 3 foot by 6 feet . I hope this helps . The model railroad part of your L.H.S. should have it in the common scales in r.r. scratchbuilding.   TANKERBUILDER
