Hey, I don't know if this would help any or not, but I just recently bought a "vintage" Revell-Monogram Battlestar Calactica "Colonial Viper" model kit.  It's from 1997 and is still factory sealed.  I still haven't even opened it.  I kinda just bought it on a wim.  And kinda wish I didn't now.  Ha.

Would it have anything inside of it that would be anything you're looking for?

Happy to help, Nigel.

I wouldn't worry at all about offending anyone with your build. Most guys will be enthusiastic and encouraging, as they shoud be (and if some bloke IS offended, then they're likely the type who isn't happy about much, anyways, and they're best ignored!).

Your project doesn't have to be exact or expensive to be impressive. The main objective in hobby model building is to enjoy (and satisfy) yourself. I am already impressed by the fact that you are willing to attempt such a project. I say go for it, man!

Cheers Mark, really decent of you to give me the links.

Wow what great ships folks are building. I doubt mine in any way will even come close in quaility of the work you and others have done. I'm not a proffesiona model builder or even a vastly experienced one at that but I've loved BSG since I was a  kid and thought how I'd love to build one.

I'm 46 and disabled (rare bone disorder and heart condition) and all my life people have put me down and said 'what I can't do' well I feel now after bringing up two kids bu myself it's time for me to do something I want to do.

I'll be honest and say I'll be working on a budget and my ship might be 'Battlestar shape' but I can't imagine it will compare to these other fine peoples works. Do you think other builders will mind if mine isn't 'up to par'..? I'd hate to offend anyone and would only call my ship 'BSG Type'...!

Kind Regards muppetmasterjedi (Nigel) UK

Greetings-

I just built one. Me and four other guys, really. At my work. This project is guaranteed to give you your seventh heart attack. But if you're bold enough...

Talk to my boss over at www.customreplicas.com. This is really the absolute best component resource for building the most accurate Galactica reproduction available anywhere.

Many other home Galactica builders share their knowledge, plans, etc., at www.resinilluminati.com . Scroll down about mid-page to The Resin Illuminati Galactica Builders Group. You will find lots of helpful folks there.

Looking forward to seeing your project!

Kind Regards-

Mark
