Creating 4 fuel tanks for F-18
Posted by Arespontus on Saturday, December 26, 2009 1:51 PM

Hello

I want to build 4 fuel tanks for my F-18E Hornet. Can anyone tell me where I could purchase the resin and catalyst to be able to make 4 fuel tanks from the center line fuel tank that comes with the model.

I went to a Michaels arts and crafts store the other day and although they do sell the product, It was all sold out and they had no timeline as to when more would be coming out to the store.

Thanks

Scott

Micromark sells a nice kit with just about everything you need to cast. Hobby Lobby carries a casting kit by Alumilite I think.

Why not just ask around to see if anyone doesn't plan on using theirs. Or steal a couple from another kit of the same type?

Some of the larger hobby shops do carry resin and catalyst (usually sold in a double package- a bottle of each).  You will also need the RTV mold material if you do not have a supply already. In addition to those places already mentioned, Bare Metal Foil and Ace Resin both carry the urethane resin and advertise in model magazines (or do a Google search for them).
