Questions on working with carbon fiber

Hey there,
I got an idea the other day for a scratchbuild using real carbon fiber "fix-it" components from the LHS for R/C cars/planes. I just had some questions about using the stuff. First, would epoxy be the best adhesive for joining the parts? Also, would the rest of the CF "stick" need to be covered in a resin, like fiberglass resin? If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be very gratefull!
Model building isn't about patience, it's about passion.
