Thanks for replying. I have the book 'KD 431- The time capsule fighter' and there is no pictures of the seat itself when it's out of the plane. I'll take your word for the tubes being on the seat itself. Now I can get back to my Corsair and do it right. Thanks again.
Mr. GTO
Got any photos? Id like to see it. Usually the tubular supports are attached to the seat itself.

So far, no comments on this. So, I guess the people who put the tubular seat supports in their Corsair's are going about it the WRONG way! Thought so. I built my F4U-1D without them, as this is presumably correct.
On most of the Corsair models that have quite a bit of scratchbuilt items on them I have noticed most people build a tubular seat mount on these models. I have a book entitled 'Corsair KD 431 The Time Capsule Corsair', and they pull the seat out of it to take several pictures of the cockpit. I do not see any kind of tubular mount or braces anywhere in the cockpit for the seat. It is a F4U-1D model. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated as i'm not doing anything that isn't correct, as this will be a contest model and I want it as accurate as possible.
