Does that mean the brass is properly annealed ? This has been an ongoing problem with K&S . I have spoken to them and my last shipment was as bad for breakage when bent at 90 degrees as before . I have had to re-anneal every piece I,ve used . I build very complicated and delicate 1/96- SPS 10 , 19 , 40 and 49 radars for my clients as well as making custom fit rail groups. When you bend it to go around a 90 degree corner and it breaks that is frustrating . There are 108 solder joints in three foot of 1/96 railing ! Because I use so much and the need is always for batches of 100 sticks at a time I created my own annealing oven . I should NOT hav had to do this . I will say , in K& S , s defense the wire is true to size from one end of a piece to the other . I have bought other brands of wire that didn,t mike out the same size in a three foot length or even a 24 inch length . So I still use K&S . I may try another , but , only when I need to .        tankerbuilder

I'll throw this it even though it isn't brass:

RadioShack® offers a nice selection of fine gauge, soft wire for about 2.3-cent/foot. RS-278-1345 is intended for use in magnetic windings, but the three spools of enamel-coated wire: 40-foot 22-gauge [0.644mm or 0.0253" copper]; 75-foot 26-gauge [0.405mm or 0.0159" green]; and 200-foot 30-gauge [0.255mm or 0.0100" red] are very handy as antennae and such.

thanks for the reply.  i couldnt find anything on their site anywhere near as small as .5mm.  i went with Lucky Model because they have the Griffon "brass pipe" in a few different sizes.  They had some other stuff i needed too.  first time ordering with them so we'll see how that goes.

There is a Hobby Town about 20 miles away... may have to visit to see what kind of stuff they have.

thanks for the tip on HT.

Check out http://www.ksmetals.com/retail.html (If there's a HobbyWorks or a Hobbytown USA near you, visit them.)

does anyone know a source for brass tubing that is .5mm (OD) x .3mm??  Only place i can find this stuff is in Europe at JB Models... which means terrible exchange rates and shipping too.

Thanks!
