Thanks. The whole model looks great!
The Testors decal came from an old sheet of car decals I had stashed away. The gears are left over from the steam engines. The steam engines and the hoists came from a little company in Pawtucket, R.I. called, Crow River Products. They sell cast pewter kits of very good quality.
I also built a shipyard diorama for my barge:
It's really sad when the only model tool you own is a box cutter.
Looks great! Did you cut those gears yourself?
That is so cool! Is that a can of Testors cement on the shelf? If so.... How many cans did you go through to build it?
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
Oh wow, that is really nice work there!

RI SCRATCH BUILDER Thank you for the kind words everyone. Greg, the scale is 1:48 I use this scale most of the time. I occasionally use 3/8"=1' , I have other scratch built models that I'll post soon.

Beautiful!
It is an inspiration. I used to have some photos I took of a barge built and used by a local construction company in Upper Michigan. It used a small IC. I took the pics to someday build a model of it and never got around to it. Your build inspires me to have a go at it.

Very nice!

Hello all, This is my first post so I hope my photos will upload. This project took about 375 hours to complete. It is based on crane barges that plied harbor waters around the turn of the century.
