1:50 SCALE CHAIN PULLER

I have not posted anything in awhile so, I thought I'd show everyone what I've been building. Chain pullers are used by salvage companies to literally "pull" shipwrecks up onto the shore and then cut the wreck up for disposal. The hydraulic units are typically rated at 300 tons of pulling power and use 3" anchor chain to do the work. Wreck sites employ as many of these units as are needed to pull the wreck on shore. My diorama only has one puller but with a little imagination, you can see what eight or ten of these pullers could accomplish.  The diorama has real beach sand that I acquired from the Narragansett Town Beach in Rhode Island one very cold and windy day.( Hardly a good day to be at the beach!!) I spent about 75 hours scratch building every thing that you see in the photos. Enjoy!!
