Ian- thats looking good. Have you got running gear yet?

I've been thinking, and with enormous respect for the men and women in the armed forces; why this country with it's ingenuity, industrial capacity and desire to be the best; has not fielded a crash program to develop the world's best armored car/apc? I'm thinking of things like the P-51, the Sherman, the Norden bombsight where the ultimate solution to a problem was developed in months, not years.

Bondo, All the MRAPS used by the US military were designed by the SADF/SANDF, and are being used in Iraq.  BAE land systems, and a company out of North Carolina build them for the Marines, and Army.  They are wicked mean looking vehicles, and do their jobs very well.  Looking good Ian.  Keep it up.

Well, I'm still hammering away at this one.  I did some more work on the lower part of the V-hull, ladders, bolts, hinges and other bits.

On the inside, lots of work done, hinges, handles, and, and.......stuff.  The seats took a long time...made of epoxy putty, and I've got another to go.  After that, just some other little seat adjustments and seat belts, and the interior is mostly done.

Well, last post in here is from January, so I guess it's time for a few new photos.  I'm getting a lot of work done now that I have nothing to do for 3 months, so I'm hoping to finish his guy up by September, since my modelling production DROPS during school.  Anyways, I've decided I want to get my hands on the new (re?)release of the Revell Unimog, 'cus there's just no way I have the motivation to do the whole chassis on my own.

So, on to the progress. I added the thingy on the front of the rear hull, not entirely sure what it is to be honest:

Also installed the backs of the seats and the circular plates that bolt into the walls:

Here's the pipe system, that I beleive feeds drinking water from the ?100litre? water tank inside the V-hull to a tap:

This is the rear stowage box, which I scratched out of a sheet of brass that I liberated from the recycling bin of my 3D design class.  Brass sheet was the only option to make this out of, because of the "bulged out 'X's" on the panels.  The license plate is cut from the edge of a PE set, with an assortment of letters and numbers:

Finally, there's this....thing...under the rear stowage box.  I didn't put much time into making it since it will be hard to see once everything is in place.

I have no real desire to break out the epoxy putty and mash it around into some barely passable seats to finish the interior right now, so it looks like the next step is to cut out some more styrene shapes and start forming the cab, which looks like it could be a bit of a challenge.  Depending on how it goes, there should be some more photos in the next couple days.

Wow, that looks great. Are you going to add gun mounts? Heres a picture I found. Looks like twin 30s.
