Scratchbuilt 1/16 Vickers MG
Posted by Richard Bartrop on Saturday, December 1, 2007 12:22 AM

Constructed from various bits of styrene rod, strip, and tube,  It's going to end up in the turret of a 1/16 Rolls armoured car.

Now THAT is cool.  Do you have any pictures from before painting?

I must admit, I'm not looking forward to making a few hundred rounds of 1/16 scale ammo.  I don't suppose anyone makes 1/16, or 120mm ammo belts, or belts of larger rounds in a smaller scale? What I need is something about 3/16" long.

Hi Richard,

excellent job and a praise coming from a dedicated firearms model maker is not easy to extract...

Thanks, George. This is my first ever foray into armour modelling, so that does mean a lot to me.

dude. go buy a G.I. Joe with an ammo belt, then give the rest to your kid, or little bro, or keep it yourself for those long waiting periods between coats of paint!

I have been scratchbuilding in 1/16th scale for about 15 years. I wouldn't think of trying to scratchbuild something like that. Beautiful! Truly beautiful. You have good eyes, a steady hand , and a lot of talent. I envy your work.
