I wasn't familiar with this plane but seeing it now- I LIKE it!

You did a great job for a self described 'quick build'.

That's a great looking Dragon Rapide!!!

I've always used stretched spru and tighten it with heat.     Looks great but they can't be handled.

The fit and finish look great, which is tough to do with silver (one reason I've only done one civil buid to date).

I've been using stretched sprue colored with a black or silver permanent marker to rig biplanes and it works for me, with a bit of practice you can get it as thin as you want, and with care install it in lengths as long as 6 inches. It was one big advantage, at least for me - it's free!

I've been using fishing line for my rigging but I don't know how that would work out in 1/72.

Even though the rigging didn't turn out the way you want, you've got yourself a gorgeous Dragon Rapide!

Good looking Dragon Rapide.  Sounds like a nice relaxing build, keeping it simple.  I use EZLine from Berkshire Junction, which is for power lines in model railroad layouts.  It gets thinner as you stretch it and will stretch well without building up excessive tension.  Easiest way I've found by far to do flying wires.

Oh, that's a favorite, the Dragon Rapide! I think it looks really cool. I rigged mine, like I do other bitty little guys, with black nylon paint brush bristles. On bigger bipes I use .010 brass rod, painted. I see better modelers use thread, but this works for me.
