Beautiful work on the Pacer, Dave! Yes

Looking through your post is like walking around the hometown airport back in the early sixties; thank you so much for sharing them!!

Take care,

Frank

Thanks Frank! Thats the nicest compliment I've ever had!  I grew up in that era, (love those tail draggers!), and before I die, I want to see models of them all, (even if I gotta scratchbuilt them myself!). Cheers! Dave.

Beautiful model! Could you post details on the conversion?

Pretty much standard out of the box built, just cut off the landing gear struts, turn them around, trim them to shape, and glue back on. For the wheel spats, I carved a pine master and vacuformed it with .040 styrene. Tail wheel came from spare parts box, and am not sure what the original kit was. Also, a good three view drawing comes in handy! Hope this was helpful! Dave.

The Pacer really looks nice. The old Piper Tri-Pacer  has always been and still is one of my old favoritws.

BEAUTIFUL job! I've bought a couple of those old Tri-Pacer kits with that very same conversion in mind. Every time I open the boxes it's like taking a trip back to my childhood. Your example is proof that those classic old kits can produce some VERY nice models. Keep those civil subjects comin'!!

Way cool. Is that a factory paint scheme?

Beautiful work ... takes me back to 'the days' ...

I learned to fly in a Piper Colt and have always wanted to do a conversion of the TriPacer kit ... haven't had any luck finding the kit though ...

I've checked eBay on occassion to no avail ...

Suggestions ?? ...

Thanks,

I would try Dean's Hobby Stop. He has a well stocked mailorder business.

Styrene Nut

I would try Dean's Hobby Stop. He has a well stocked mailorder business.

I went to the site and the Aircraft Kit button produces an error message of Page Not Found ...

I tried by manufacturer and only got car models ...

Everything I've tried also produces no images ... why would anyone buy anything without being able to see what they're buying ? ...

I sent an e-mail through their Contact Us form but have yet to hear a thing ... Angry
