Thanks for your reply. I'll try the steel wool , cloth, wash and regloss and see what happens. I'll also use another brand of setting solution. Thanks again.  Wahooman

Wahoo, try lightly buffing the splotches with #0000 Steel Wool, wipe with tack cloth, wash with the detergent.    Once you apply the next clear coat the fog created by the steel wool will go away.

Get you some different decal solution.

Hope this helps,

Frank

Need Help Decaling
Posted by wahooman on Sunday, January 24, 2010 4:19 PM

I'm decaling a 1/32 F4-U Corsair and have run into a problem. I usually use a heavy amount of decal setting solution getting the cal where I want it. This has't been a problem in the past but on this project after drying there is a residue around the decals. This usually washes away with Dawn dish washing detergent but has failed to remove the blotches after several attempts. Just for info I always gloss coat before decaling. What should or can I do to solve this problem?   Wahooman
