DGA-3 "Pete"
Posted by jmabx on Thursday, February 25, 2010 9:00 PM

"Pete" or DGA-3 was a purpose built air racer put together with salvaged aircraft materials in 1929 by Benny Howard. Pete won five of seven races in his first test at the 1930 National Air Races in Chicago. Pete's success convinced Benny to build the racers Mike, Ike and the highly successful Mr. Mulligan.

Here we have for you my recently completed Pegaso 1/48 Howard "Pete". Built for Randy's (vetteman42) Air Racer Group Build.

Here's what I had to work with.

Cut some holes and made an engine.

Slapped him together and gave him some paint and decals.

I could have done things a little better but it was a quick, fun build and I'm happy with the way it came out.

I hope you all like it. Yes  Comments and criticism always welcome.  Smile
