My 1/48 Falcon-10 build
Posted by 7474 on Monday, October 25, 2010 11:48 AM

Won a Hasegawa/Minicraft Falcon-10 1/48 model at my IPMS club. I put my 747 build aside to work on this. My first attempt at simulating wood with paint. The seat belts are custom made from masking tape then painted, and I painted the seats black and white with a red pin strip. Pics are below are as of last week monday. I had painted the red stripe on the fueslage, had it masked, had the white almost painted when I realized that the paint was on it too thick and had a lot of runs, so I decided to strip the paint and start over. I put a primer coat on yesterday, am fixing some issues, and hope to put another coat of primer on this afternoon and start shooting white paint tonight or in the am before work. Let me know what you think.

First Bulkhead

Second Bulkhead

Main Bulkhead

All Three Bulkheads

Entire enterior

Left Fuselage half before closing it up. I put a note for whishes and thoughts in the nose, as well as pennies from this year.

Ready for primer

Also made FOD covers for the engines, the intakes are ugly and hard to fix.

Have you made any more progress on the Falcon 10, 7474?

Now just how much of that interior detail will you actually get to see now that the fuselage is buttoned up? Wink

She WAS looking sharp. Tried to touch up some of the red paint, and it ended up getting some bad runs in it, so it's bare plastic again. Waiting to have a day off when I can repaint it. I know the interior detail will not be visible, but I like taking pride in my work and knowing that it's there. Maybe one of these days I can post a pic of it completed.
