OOPS my bad!

I hadn't noticed it was about Tamiya TS  My advice only applies to their Acrylic range

thanks Ray. i tested some methylated spirits and it worked great with no affect to the plastic and even left the putty alone. the wings are now exactly the same as before they were painted.

Automotive brake fluid will remove solvent based paints but, if its just overspray you're talking about,

try a paper towel wet with mineral spirits.  That won't harm styrene plastic.

The TS spray cans are lacquers, not acrylics. You could soak it in Windex for a year and it wouldn't touch the paint.

I know Tamiya lacquer thinner would remove it without affecting the plastic, but that would be quite an expensive exercise (runs to about $15.00/250ml here in Aus)

ok thanks i will give windex a try because the mr. muscle cleaner has had virtualy no effect only tiny bits can be shipped away when i scrape it realy hard with the end of a paint brush. the only thing at this time i know of that can get it off is mineral terps but as i just found out the terps wiil eat/softern at the plastic itself. grrrrrrrr im runing out of options.

Windex/Windolene with Ammonia cuts acrylic, but Tamiya stuff is tough.

Some in the UK, recommend Tescos' own brand Value generic cleaner, as cheap! Key ingredient is Ammonia.

In the UK, Fairy Power Spray is as good/more effective than Mr Muscle,  but both will 'leach' plastic if left too long, & they eat Super glue & certain fillers as well.

Use rubber gloves, put plug in sink! then put model in plastic bag & spray, leave for 10-15 mins, then scrub with disposable toothbrush & Wash-up liquid, re-apply if needed.

It will be difficult to spray just one wing as the fumes will affect the whole model & also your health if breathed in!, so Windex/Windolene may be the best in this situation..
