Staggerwing problem
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, December 2, 2011 8:55 AM

Found a little problem with the Roden Staggerwing rigging.  Fortunately, found it in enough time to prevent problems.  The rigging fittings molded into the wing are a bit too far back.  The kit has a seperate door that can be displayed open- except if you put the rigging at the molded fitting position.  The pair of wires from the inboard end of the top wing to the outboard end of the bottom must be moved forward a quarter inch or so, else it would block the door from opening.

You can probably get by with the kit position if you build with the door closed, and hope no one will notice that the wires are in the way of the door.  It may look a little funny with the inboard end moved forward aways, but I don't think it will be too noticable.  I am hoping the fitting for that top inboard end is not that visible unless you pick the plane up and look at it from the bottom, so the "extra" fitting won't be too noticable.
