727 Repaint
Posted by B17Pilot on Thursday, April 12, 2012 1:08 PM

I have a 1/144 Airfix Boeing 727 I'm repairing/repainting.  I have stripped the old Pan Am markings off and am fixing seams and such.  Will be putting a Braniff livery  on afterwards.  Here's my problem: I have Livieries Unlimited decals for the Braniff 727s, but they give you just the lettering and such, leaving you to pick anyone of the mulitple colors Braniff used.  I have narrowed it down to Blue and Red, but can't decide from there, so which color should I go with? Blue or Red?

I'm partial to blue myself but she's your bird.  I have a BI 707 I will have to kae that discision with down the road.  Did they ever do a dark blue or just the sky blue?  Now I don't like sky blue.  I may go off the wall and do orange.  Good luck with your choice.

On a side note, I've heard lately Frisco has really grown.  I used to live in Little Elm, love the area up there.  Texas Land and Cattle is my favorite eatery.  C'ya, Chris

Your choice, but IMO I'd go with Blue, I don't think they were as common as the red 3 holers!
