Absolutely beautiful work and top-notch finish!

I'm not familiar with the kit, but is it safe to assume your "mods" include articulating the flaps?

Hi,

Yes, It's a good kit to build. Not many problems only a few tweaks to the fuselage to make it look correct.

Yes, I made the flaps/slats from styrene.

Thanks,

Brad

Brad,

Great work as always. Always liked this Air India scheme with the temple borders around the windows.

Cheers, Aaron

Gorgeous!  Love the mods.  Some day I'll try to be brave enough to do flaps and slats.

I have just had another peep at your airbus again to remind myself of how good it is. Roy Cross did the original artwork for the box art when released in the Air France colour scheme. My dad was one of the first BA Captains on the new L1011 fleet in the 70's and he flew me over to paris on a L1011 and we flew back on a A3 series as a first experience - there and back in a day, first on a Lockheed and then on an Airbus.

Thanks for another peek!  I have more builds in the gallery section at airlinercafe. You must be very proud of your Dad flying you on a L-1011. That does not happen often I bet. BA had some real good looking liveries in the '70's too.

Thanks again and peek anytime....LOL!

I went and looked at your gallery pictures and I'm not sure what to say.  What outstanding work!  Until I'm proven wrong I will consider you the Master of airliner builds.   While it's hard to pick a favorite, I have a soft spot for the super VC10.

Any plans to show us how to do the flaps? I tried on a 1/144th 747 and failed miserably.

How did you cut the flap guides, parallel to the trailing edge or square to the guide. I make two drawings to show what I'm asking. Apologies for the poor quality, but it's what I was able to come up with.

The reason I ask is because when I had my failed attempt with the 747, I cut the guides parallel to the trailing edge and I had a difficult time reattaching them because of the angle produced. I think had I cut the guides square to the guides, it would have turned out better.

Hi,

Wing B should work. Their should be a little twist in the guides too. Looking from the front of the wings you can see a tad of twist or tilting towards the fuselage.

Airlinersnet has some cool "Veiw from passenger window" of wings with flaps deployed.

BEST REGARDS,

Brad

A masterpiece!!  What a beautiful job!  I've managed to do a decent job with the flaps on my kits, but I can't get the leading edge slats right.  Yours look great!!!
