1:144, Now we need aftermarket

I am glad to see more and more kits available in 1:144.  It is a great scale for commercial aircraft now that they are getting so big- but then there have always been some pretty big aircraft.   Not much yet in aftermarket accessories, yet, however.  Hopefully they will come as the number of kits grows.

I suppose for younger folks who don't have a large collection of models the size of completed models isn't that big a problem.  But I have had to quit building bigger scale stuff.  My collection is overwhelming my house :-(

I'd liked some flap down sets for some of the airliners I have.  Maybe some good wheel wells as well.

Get a reversed engine set and flap/slats/spoilers deployed and get a little landing scene going!

Yeah, wheel well sets are sorely needed.  Some cockpit sets would be nice too.  Very few of the 1:144 airliners have any cockpit stuff.  It would be nice for future kits too if mfgs would do a little cockpit stuff.  The bulkhead between cockpit and cabin is essential.  A cockpit floor and crew seats would be very welcome.

Also like to see the mfgs, just make a plain kit with no decals for airlines (just the stencils, exit markings and such) like what Draco did with their 737s.

I got aftermarket decals for airlines and would like not to have to pay for a set of decals that comes with the kit that I'm not going to use.

Guys,

While not as common as aftermarket for military aircraft, there are a few suppliers out there catering to us airliner types:

Contrail Models

Scale Aircraft Conversions

ExtraTech

Platz

Airwaves

Braz

Thanks, Aaron.  There was some neat stuff at those sites that I was unaware of.  I do think, though, that anyone designing a web page with black text on a dark blue background needs remedial training :-(
