Nice looking build Aaron - I'm not a civi fan, but it looks gorgeous in that scheme & looking at some sprue shots the kit has some nice detail for the scale.

What did you use to mask the demarcation?

It's 1/144 scale. So it's pretty big 18" or so long. I kept hitting it on the side of the spray booth.

Thanks! It is a nice kit. I masked the scheme by making a color copy of the decals — it wouldn't show up on black and white — and using that to cut 3M Blue Painters Tape masks.

Great looking model, Aaron!  I wish I could send pics the ones I see every day before they're finished and painted....it's incredible to see them rolled out of those great big doors at Everett....I'm filled with wonder every day when I see the 4 lines in operation....767, 777, 747 and 787....you HAVE to take the factory tour!  The scope of work is staggering!

Looks good! Wonder if the Revell release will be a rebox of this, like 787 is. Want the Lufthansa markings for either one though.

That has always been on my wish list. I was going to do one over 20 years ago but they had suspended them temporarily. Haven't been back to Seattle since then. One of these days...

Say, Aaron, are the decals you used the kit decals, and how complete are they?  The only thing I didn't like about the Zvezda Dreamliner was that the decals were very incomplete and required you to paint a lot of fine stripes and shading that would be much nicer if they were decals.  That complex scheme is what has held me off from building  it.

Everything but the red is decals (unlike the Dreamliner which needed a lot of work and tape). The only problem is that the edges are all hard whereas the real aircraft as soft demarcations. There are also a couple of things missing — registration and hull number most notably.

            I live in Spokane Wa in the flight path of SIA's runway 2-1. I've seen this aircraft in un painted and in the livery in your post. You should see the wings bend on these new generation airliners. Even seen the Dream lifter....

That's a beauty!
