Was at the "Hope it don't snow" show yesterday (Rochester, MN) and saw a neat civil aircraft model. It was the Taylor Aerocar. The original flew in the fifties, I believe, and the guy that showed it said, I believe, that the kit was mid 60s. I forget the exact name of the mfg- started with G.
The builder bought it as a glue bomb and took at apart and rebuilt it with lots of additional detail. He paid $125 on eBay.
I have long wanted to model that plane/car. He said, though, that the rare kits, when they do appear on eBay, go for around $750! I guess I'll pass and just keep longing :-(
