Thats pretty nifty, Ronald. My father worked for United Airlines as an engineer. He was in the group that bought 48 Caravelles from Sud. We lived for a while in France. They were purchased when the Lockheed Electra turboprop didn't get approved and had problems. It was the first middle range commercial jet in the U.S.
The prototypes had a landing drag parachute in the tail. I think it was a French military specification.
