Hi Goose !
You hit the nail on the head .The only difference is the box . Mine is plain white with a Staggerwing Club sticker and the plane drawn in black and white . T.B.

I gotta look for that one next time I do an on-line purchase.........or check at the May 21 NIMCON 5 IPMS LAKES REGION SCALE MODELERS show- whichever comes first..
Nice find.....Love that bird, the auto/air museum in Hood River has one in yellow that is in airworthy condition. Was the cat's meow in the day, and really still is, speed is up there with most retact singles even today.
Incidently, Roden does a nice 1:48 scale Staggerwing. Their original version came with military markings. It was not until I did one with inkjet decals for a civil version that they came out with a new kit with civil decals, including the speedbird.

Hi Ya'll :
Guess What ? Went to the very enjoyable Train Show put on By San Antonio Model Railroad Association ( SAMRA ) this last weekend . Of Course at every show whether I.P.M.S. or a train club there will be vendors .
One vendor had a lot of odd stuff . One package kept catching my sweater sleeve as I went by. Very narrow stairs on that end . Well I bought it
Now here's the skinny on it . Manufactured in 1961 by Ideal Toys . Sponsored by and Authorized by an airplane club .( Real ) The plane . It's a 1/32 Beech Staggerwing .
It's the last release of the thing Without the motor and battery box to make the prop spin . Unusual assembly sequence and very low parts count .
Yes , a D-17S with enough decals to choke a horse and info in the instructions to make All the variants ! The Decals are in Like New Condition , But I had to bag the plane because the box is so poor .It also includes a brochure from Beech Aircraft explaining the bird and her options and color choices .
How about that for a find , with NO parts missing . Sorry there's no pics . Still haven't learned How to do that . Tanker - Builder
