Airfix 1/144 DC-9
Posted by kg4kpg on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 10:25 PM

Airfix 1/144 DC-9. I messed up two sets of decals in a row on the DC -9 so she ended up plain white with a NASA logo on the tail. The actual NASA scheme has a blue stripe down the side but didn't have that. I just wanted it done. Call it a whif if you will.

I like the Marine and Navy schemes. The kit really wasn't a bad build. I didn't need any filler but had to do a little clean-up on the engines. I can't attest to accuracy but looks like a DC-9 to me.

That looks so perfect.   Please share your secret of beautiful white finishes. Really like the markings.                 gk

Thanks. I've been lucky so far using Tamiya and Model Master gloss white. After I decal, MM gloss clear to finish. I was using Krylon Fusion flat with Future Shine before decalling, but the last bottle I bought was yellowing for some reason. Not much, but enough to say it wasn't white anymore.

Nice build there Chris and I think it actually looks better minus the stripes.
