I've returned from the LHS, where I saw an AMT 1/48 Vega.  It was in Shell Oil colours.  I know the molds are likely from the 60's.  But there is likely no newer.  Round 2 is my suspect for the new release.

I remember that kit. Don't remember who manufactured it but I remember building it. Mine was Wiley Post's around the world plane. Gee, I wish companies would bring some of these older kits back (with new tooling and maybe better detail).

I think it was AMT.  My friend was building that old kit at same time I was building a Special Hobbies Vega in 1:72.  We compared notes a lot, though we were doing different liveries.
