I have the Revell 1/48 kit with Eastern decals that I'm not using. I can send them to you if you want, I'm planning on doing some other livery.

Many (most? all??) of DrawDecal's sets are available in 1/48 scale. It would be worth checking them for a livery that might appeal to you.

Good luck with your hunt.

I would both scan them for  possible inkjet replacement (check the decals forum below for more on inkjet decals), as Gene suggests, and stand by with Decal Film.  One could coat the sheet with the decal film on speculation of problems, or test a decal.  Most decal sheets have some artwork that is not needed for the model, such as the brand logo, and sheet identification number.  These areas are actual decals (don't know why they are- maybe whoever prints/silkscreens doesn't bother to rationalize, just makes all non-clear areas decal).  Try one of those areas to see if decals shatter.

If so, then apply decal film to rest of sheet.  Micro Scale is the most popular brand of Decal Film, but there are several other brands too.  This stuff is made just for that problem.

If you have access to a scanner and ink jet printer, you can scan the old decals and print them on ink jet decal paper.  That might be a solution.

I have an old Monogram 1/48 Eastern Airlines DC3 kit and the decals appear like they will crack just looking at them.Circa 1992

I've spent a couple hours looking for replacement decals of new manufacture and have no luck. Are there any out there ?I'd take any US airline or even decals for a US Navy R4D (NATS) or The Blue Angles.

There seems to be several sets for 1/72 and 1/144 scales which doesn't help any.

I'm mainly a ship builder, but have some time in between projects and want to build something different.
