Fly Models DC-9
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, October 14, 2016 3:33 PM

Started a DC-9 from Fly Models in 1:144.  It will have North Central livery, with much Alclad.  Thought the black would be ready today, but found a blemish near the nose, so had to respray the left nose area, but did manage to Alclad the nacelles and horizontal tailplanes since the photo below.

This is my first Fly kit.  The detail in some areas (like lg) is not quite as crisp as the moldings on some of the new kits from the bigger mfgs, but the scribed panel lines are just right.  The fit was great!  No putty, just some paint dribbled into fuselage seam and wing root area with a toothpick and that did it.

Even with the challenges, you still made this start a top notch build.  Looking forward to more so.
