I love the "mud hen"!

Pure gold in the air to an airline.

And she pays me twice a month!

Happy birthday 737!

I fly the 737 at my airline, love the airplane. Boeing did an excellent job with it, but the guys I've spoken with who flew the 727 prefer that over the 737, but at the end of the Guppy is a great airplane.

Can't believe the 737 is that old!  Seems like just a few months ago, when I took my first ride on a business trip, apparently long, long ago!

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

And it's still in production

And I feel quite certain it will be for a long time. Operational longevity is Boeing's strong suit, efficiency and reliability goes right along with it. Nothing better than 737's out there. Happy birthday, old girl.

Reminds me of the old airline joke.

"Munich tower, BA 300 heavy requests clearance to land"

"BA 300 heavy, you must speak in German. Haven't you ever flown to Munich before?"

"Munich tower, yes, it was a long time ago in a different model of Boeing, and I didn't stick around".

The 737 flew first test flight on April 9, 1967. Happy 50th!

Lufthansa operated the -100 and United followed with  the -200.

Captains I've known love the aircraft, usually because they like to actually fly and make takeoff and landings.

i think it's the best civil aircraft design. Tear the roof off and she still comes home.
