Bellanca CH-300 drawings
Posted by Don Stauffer on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 9:33 AM

Great article in the current Flight Journal on a restored Bellanca with extensive super-good pictures.  Always wanted to build a Bellanca, and this would be great reference material. I don't mind scratching one, but I looked through all my books of 3-views, (Matt and others).  No Bellancas!  Google Image search found only one drawing, tiny 200 pixel thing, not much good for enlarging to even 1:72, and I'd like to go larger anyway, say 1:48 or 1:32.  Anyone know of a good CH-300 drawing?  I have seen pictures with profile view good enough to draw from, but top view or front view photos pretty much non-existant.

Hi I would contact the Canadian Air and Space Museum. Nice folks. http://casmuseum.techno-science.ca/en/index.php

They have one.

Don, Lars Opland has a nice 1/72 CH-300 kit in vac and resin, here's a review:

Here is his web page, he will probably have some drawings if you don't like 1/72.

Thanks, Jack.  Two of those look like they'll work okay- will give the project a go-ahead.

Just ran across this, Don.  Good chance it's vaporware, but....

I couldn't get the site to work right.  Could only get the GeeBee stuff.

Yeah, it's just a space to keep watching at this point.  They have a Facebook page that is somewhat more informative.

I believe a past issue of FSM, published somewhere between 1988 and 1990, had an article on a scratchbuilt, large-scale Bellanca floatplane with porthole cabin windows. The best-looking aircraft model I've ever seen. I don't remember if the article included scale drawings, but it should be easy enough to find out if you or anyone else here has the FSM 25-year Collection on DVD ROM.
