1/48 Cessna Citation 500 KLM
Posted by SteveFL on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 7:23 AM

I love browsing the Airliners.net website; there are literally tens of thousands of pictures of all kinds of aircraft.  One particular time while looking at Citation pictures, I stumbled across some interesting photos of one used by the Royal Dutch airline KLM for their pilot flight training program.  They were all 500 models, which was perfect because I have a few of the Hasegawa kits.  There was no way I could custom make decals for this livery.  Upon doing some research, I was pleasantly surprised to see DrawDecal.com have this exact set in 1/48.  This was going to be a “no brainer.”  By the way, let me state that Greg’s decals are as good as you will ever get.  Clean crisp lines, brilliant colors, and in perfect registry. Please do check out his website as he makes a wide array of unique and vintage sets for all kinds of aircraft.  So without further adieu, I’d like to share my Hasegawa Cessna Citation 500.  This makes a special addition to my aviation collection—one you don’t see often.  All comments/critiques are very much appreciated.  Please enjoy the pics.

Hi,

That turned out great.  Its neat to see a model of something a little "different".

Beautiful!  I never knew that kit existed!  I'll have to look around and see if I can find one.

Hello!

That Cessna really looks good! Congratulations!

I'm also a fan of DRAW decals. Coincidentially I'va also built a KLM aircraft with their decals:

1:144 Zvezda Boeing 777-300ER by Pawel

More on this here: http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/48/t/169852.aspx

I also have their 1:144 KLM 747 set. Lookin' forward to building a plane that I used flying from Sint Maarten to Curacao (the City of Bangkok).

Have a nice day

Paweł

Super build!

I have the Hasegawa Falcon 10 but Draw doesn't have anything for it unfortunately.

Thanks alot.

True.  However, try to find the Revell Germany release of the Falcon 10.  The decal sheet included is very nice and has 2 private/personal livery schemes to pick from.

Nice Citation.  The Hasegawa kit is good for up to 500-0213, after that the wing was longer and other internals were different as well.  Here is a link to pictures of 500-0046, one I used to fly.
